Scott Cahaly is a Stone Sculptor and Painter living and working in the Boston Area. He never made any art before the age twenty-one while a student at the University of Vermont during the mid-nineties. While a lot of artists add to get results, Scott's is a natural reductive mind. Teepee installation/ July 2013

I made a little spontaneous Teepee installation at a local festival in MA in July. Just using dead wood, rope and some ingenuity. I started with the central connection, which I reenforced with more rope and heavier wood. People saw different imagery in this piece. I saw a huge abstract person riding a horse.. At night it was nice cause the branches almost formed an intermediary to the stars. During the day the piece served as a 'Dragon Fly' landing pad. At one point there was more then fifteen of them perched on it's branches. I am interested in doing installations like this with similar or different materials as short/long term installations on different sites.... Scott.
